     Sallie or Sarah Keyser was born in 1816 in Belmont County, Ohio. She was the daughter of William Keyser and Margaret Workman. Sallie or Sarah Keyser married Joseph Harris, son of Reuben Harris and Sarah Gill, in 1834.1

     Joseph Harris was born on 20 January 1810 in Belmont County, Ohio.1 He was the son of Reuben Harris and Sarah Gill. Joseph Harris married Sallie or Sarah Keyser, daughter of William Keyser and Margaret Workman, in 1834.1 Joseph Harris died on 20 December 1897 at age 87 years and 11 months.1

     Smiley Keyser was born in Pultney Township, Belmont County, Ohio. He was the son of William Keyser and Margaret Workman. Smiley Keyser married Margaret Galloway on 13 October 1842 in Belmont County, Ohio.1 Smiley Keyser married Elizabeth Stewart on 7 June 1849 in Marshall County, West Virginia.1 Smiley Keyser married Caroline Brannen, daughter of James Brannen and Mary Kilgore, on 18 March 1858 in Belmont County, Ohio. Smiley Keyser died in 1909 in Oak Hill, Illinois.
     

Smiley and Margaret were raising their three sons when Margaret died. After Margaret's death, Smiley left the three boys with their Galloway grandparents and went to Illinois with his new wife, Elizabeth.2
Elizabeth was a widow with two children when she and Smiley married. Elizabeth and Smiley had four children of their own, although two died in infancy.

On the death of Elizabeth in 1857, Smiley returned to Belmont County where he took a job as a lawyer and married his third and last wife, Caroline. They moved to Marshall County, Virginia for a few years and then back to Belmont County where they had a son. Sometime after 1860 they moved to Peoria County, Illinois, where they had one more child and lived the remainder of their lives.3

The gravestone of Smiley Keyser and Caroline Brannen Keyser, is located at Oak Hill Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois, and can be viewed here.4

Margaret Galloway

b. 1825, d. after 31 March 1848
     Margaret Galloway was born in 1825. She married Smiley Keyser, son of William Keyser and Margaret Workman, on 13 October 1842 in Belmont County, Ohio.1 Margaret Galloway died after 31 March 1848 in Belmont County, Ohio. Most probably in childbirth of son Andrew Jackson, on or after 31 march 1848.
