     Mary Avreill Hilton married James Poor Hilton, son of John Hilton and Sally Blunt. Mary Avreill Hilton was born on 6 November 1795 in Alna, Lincoln County, Maine.1 She was the daughter of Jacob Hilton and Sarah (Sally) Averill. Mary Avreill Hilton died on 7 November 1868 in Bremen, Lincoln County, Maine, at age 73 years and 1 day.

James Hilton married Sarah Yates circa 27 June 1759 in Manchester, Essex County, Massachusetts.1 James Hilton died on 2 July 1799 in Bristol, Lincoln County, Maine, at age 62 years and 5 days.2
     
Family settled in Bristol, Maine before birth of first child, son John, in 1767.3

Descent from William the Conqueror
     William Hilton was born before 16 May 1709 in Manchester, Essex County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of William Hilton and Margaret Stilson. William Hilton married Mary Lee between 1 December 1730 and 1731 in Manchester, Essex County, Massachusetts.2,3 William Hilton died in May 1757 in Muscongus, Lincoln County, Maine.4,5
     
After he married Mary Lee they went to Muscongus, Maine. Later settled at Broad Cove where he was killed by the Indians in 1739.
