     Philip Ballard was born between 1705 and 1710 in St. Anne's Parish, Essex County, Virginia. He was the son of William Ballard and Philadelphia Lee (or Ludwell). Philip Ballard married Ann Nancy Johnson circa 1730.1,2 Philip Ballard died in 1795 in Orange County, Virginia.
     
Not absolutely sure if Philip is the son of this William Ballard, son of Thomas Ballad, jr., or the William Ballard who is son of Thomas, Sr. I have put him here for the duration, until I find proof otherwise. [KSD]

     Francis Ballard was born in 1674/75 in Middle Plantation, Wililamsburg, Williamsburg County, Virginia.1 He was the son of Thomas Ballard Sr. and Anna (Anne) Thomas.1 Francis Ballard died on 12 March 1718/19 at age 44 years.1 He married Mary Servant, daughter of Bertrand Servant, on 25 December 1966 in Elizabeth County, Virginia.1
     
Francis was a sub-sheriff of York in 1694 and sheriff of Elizabeth City county in 1705.2

Francis and Mary had six children: Francis, Servant, Frances, Mary, Lucy, and Anne.2

     Fieldon Ballard was born on 5 July 1788 in Orange County, Virginia.1 He was the son of Thomas Ballard and Elizabeth Smith.2 Fieldon Ballard married Margaret "Peggy" Brown, daughter of Joseph Brown and Lady Jane Wiley, in 1810 in Kanawha County, Virginia (later WV).1 Fieldon Ballard died on 11 October 1843 in Menard County, Illinois, at age 55 years, 3 months and 6 days.1 He was buried after 11 October 1843 at Smoot Cemetery, Menard County, Illinois.
