3rd great-grandfather of Kerry Suzanne Davis.
David White was born in 1769 in Ireland. He was the son of David White and Mary Crawford. David White married Margaret Sharp in January 1804 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. David White died before 7 July 1848.1
Carol White Hammer says in her Biography of David White, that "It has not been established where David and Margaret were from but they settled in Greenville in 1804. David was a farmer in Greenville and a collector of land. He bought and sold land constantly. He and Margaret were members of the Seceder Church of the Coventeers and were buried in the Old Seceder Church Cemetery of Greenville, which no longer exists. Many of the bodies were removed and buried in the Shenango Cemetery of Greenville. (The Seceder Church is now called the Presbyterian Church of the USA.) Their children: James Carrick White; John S. White; Margaret E. White. James married Margaret Blair and John married her sister, Anne Blair. These two marriages did not last, however, the two women eventually leaving their husbands and returning home to live. This family history continues to the present time. Many families of the Mercer County area are tied into this White family."2
During the War of 1812, David White is listed as a Private, under Capt. Mann, Col. Christy's battalion. He was recruited from Greenville area Mercer County. Margaret made application for bounty land for David's service.3

Thence North nineteen degrees West sixty four perches to a post. Thence North thirteen and one half degrees West, seventy six perches to the beginning. Containing one hundred and eighty acres more or less, (deducting forty two acres and eighty nine perches twenty five of which were deeded by James C. White to Wm. Laird by deed of May 8th 1840and seventeen acres and eighty nine perches by same to Alexander McMillan by deed of Sept 17th 1846.) being the same piece or parcel of land deeded to me by James C. White and Margaret, his wife, on the eighteenth day of September 1846, and which became their property by deed from me of the fourteenth day of Sept 1839. The nature of this grant and transfer of all my right and title to the above named piece or parcel of land to my daughter Margaret and her heirs is as follows:
First, that the right of title and disposal of said land remain in me so long as I am capable of managing my worldly affairs, unless otherwise transferred to her. Secondly, that in consideration of said grant, my daughter Margaret gives a comfortable support to and all necessary attendance upon myself and my wife Margaret during our natural lives and a decent interment of our bodies at death. Thirdly, as I do not transfer said property to my daughter through any disrespect to my son-in-law, and her husband, Andrew A. Bean but to secure the right of title to her children, she may (with her husband's consent) exchange said land for any other real estate they may desire, provided always that it be unencumbered, and that the title to her and her natural heirs remain the same as herein secured, and any transfer that breaks said decending right shall be null and void. Fourthly, if her children should not survive her, she then has the whole disposal of her right in said land as she may prefer.
