     Elmer Fred Davis was born on 12 September 1887 in Hyde, Colorado.¹ He was the son of James Oliver Davis and Rozina Phebe Fairchild. Elmer Fred Davis married Grace E. Murphy, daughter of Edward Murphy and May Lambertson, on 3 September 1910 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California.¹

Elmer Fred Davis graduated from the Houston Texas High School in 1904; from Wheeler Business College of Houston, Texas in 1904; from the University of California in 1910.¹

Fred received his B.S. in mining engineering from the University of California College of Mining in 1910. He was awarded an M.S. in geology in 1912, and a Ph.D. in 1917.¹

Fred was an instructor in geology and mineralogy at the University of California from 1912 to 1919. October 1st 1919 he joined Shell Oil as chief geologist in Albuquerque, New Mexico and later he went to Salt Lake City. In 1920 he was put in charge of Shell's exploration activities in Utah. In 1921 he was moved to Cheyene, Wyoming, and in 1922 he went out to California as Shell's chief geologist. In January 1929 he was advanced to vice present and chief geologist, and was in charge of directing all the company's exploratory work. In 1940 he became vice president in charge of the Los Angeles office, and on December 1, 1944 he additionally became chief consulting geologist for the North American continent. He retired from Shell in about 1949 or 1950.³

     Richard Henry Davis was born on 17 February 1890 in 1504 North 15th Street, Denver, Colorado.¹ He was the son of James Oliver Davis and Rozina Phebe Fairchild. Richard Henry Davis married Florence Isabelle Lathrop, daughter of William F. Lathrop, on 3 January 1912.¹

He graduated from the Houston Texas High School Janaury 31, 1906. He was a student at the University of California for three years, belonging to the class of 1910.¹

In 1909 he began ranching at Modesto, California.¹

     John Oliver Davis was born on 20 September 1892 in Old Culpepper House, corner of Polk & Chenevert Streets, Houston, Texas.² He was the son of James Oliver Davis and Rozina Phebe Fairchild. John Oliver Davis married Ruth Helen Wilson, daughter of George L. Wilson and Helen Wagley, on 24 May 1917 in San Jose, Santa Clara County, California.

Boy Hero. Saved Another Boy from Drowning at La Porte.

     Only for the heroism of Johnny, the little 11 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Davis of this city, the 6 year old son of Dr. and Mrs. O.M. Davis would have been drowned at La Porte a few days ago.

     The little fellow's name is Robert, and he had gone out on the pier crabbing. The tide came in and the waves were high. In some manner he fell into the water and had gone down twice, when John jumped in and went to his assistance. After getting hold of the drowning boy, he held him above the water until a fisherman went to their assistance.⁴

John graduated from the Berkeley California High School in 1910. Was a student at the University of California, belonging to the class of 1916.

     Helen Margaret Davis was born on 26 March 1897 in 2716 Austin Street, Houston, Harris County, Texas. She was the daughter of James Oliver Davis and Rozina Phebe Fairchild. Helen Margaret Davis married James Sheldon Lowery, son of George W. Lowery and Mary Wright, on 28 November 1917 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California. They resided in Modesto, California after their marriage. Helen Margaret Davis died on 21 November 1987 in Davis, Yolo County, California, at age 90 years, 7 months and 26 days. Died of uterine cancer, spread to lungs and other internal organs.²

Helen graduated December 1913 from Berkeley High School, Berkeley, California.

In June 1918 Helen received her B.L. degree from the University of California at Berkeley.

     James Sheldon Lowery was born on 26 May 1892 in Ogden, Monroe County, New York. He was the son of George W. Lowery and Mary Wright. James Sheldon Lowery married Helen Margaret Davis, daughter of James Oliver Davis and Rozina Phebe Fairchild, on 28 November 1917 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California. They resided in Modesto, California after their marriage. James Sheldon Lowery died in April 1971 in Davis, Yolo County, California, at age 78 years and 10 months. Heart attack.

     Helen Mildred Lowery was born on 24 December 1922 in Alta Bates Hospital, Berkeley, Alameda County, California.² She is the daughter of James Sheldon Lowery and Helen Margaret Davis. Helen Mildred Lowery married Charles Clifford Bradfield Jr., son of Charles Bradfield and Gretchen Walther, on 7 February 1943 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California.²

     Mary Margaret Lowry was born on 20 November 1927 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California. She is the daughter of James Sheldon Lowery and Helen Margaret Davis. Mary Margaret Lowry married Paul Elias Caplan on 2 October 1949 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California.

     Grace E. Murphy is the daughter of Edward Murphy and May Lambertson. Grace E. Murphy married Elmer Fred Davis, son of James Oliver Davis and Rozina Phebe Fairchild, on 3 September 1910 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California.¹
     

Grace E. Davis received the degree of B.L. from the University of California in 1917.¹

     Florence Isabelle Lathrop was the daughter of William F. Lathrop. Florence Isabelle Lathrop married Richard Henry Davis, son of James Oliver Davis and Rozina Phebe Fairchild, on 3 January 1912.¹

     Richard Davis was born on 20 June 1923. He was the son of Richard Henry Davis and Florence Isabelle Lathrop. Richard Davis died on 22 June 1923 at age 2 days.
