Gertrude Ellen "Trudy" Davis was born on 12 March 1920 in Berkeley, Alameda County, California.¹ She was the daughter of Elbert Willard Davis and Alice Marie Kingman. Gertrude Ellen "Trudy" Davis married William "Bill" Nelson circa 1940. Trudy and Bill Nelson divorced in perhaps the late 1950s or early 1960s and Trudy married again a number of times over the years. Gertrude Ellen "Trudy" Davis died on 1 February 1978 in Modesto, Stanislaus County, California, at age 57 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was buried in the Davis Family Plot after 1 February 1978 at Mt. View Cemetery, 5000 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland, Alameda County, California.²

Trudy's niece Kerry Davis, recalls that Trudy was quite a good writer of short stories and poetry; she wrote a regular article for the Modesto, California newspaper.³
