Anne Savell
b. 26 April 1601, d. 5 September 1693
10th great-grandmother of Kerry Suzanne Davis.
Anne Savell was born between September 1600 and 1601 in Saffron Walden, Essex County, England.1 Anne, the daughter of William Savell, was baptized on 26 April 1601 in Saffron Walden, Essex County, England.2 She married Samuel Bass on 25 April 1625 in Saffron Walden, Essex County, England.2 Anne Savell died on 5 September 1693 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, at age 92 years, 4 months and 10 days. Although the records state she was 93 at death, I believe her Baptismal records may be closer to her actual birthdate and she was "almost" 93 at death.3
Samuel, his wife Anne and their first four children, who were all born in Saffron Walden, England, migrated and settled first in Roxbury, Massachusetts in about 1633. History of Bridgewater says they settled there in 1630 and Great Migration says they settled there in 1633 which is probably the more accurate date.4,5
In about 1633, with a group of immigrants, "Ann Basse the wife of Samuell Basse" was admitted to Roxbury church as member #79, immediately after her husband who was church member #78.6

11th great-grandfather of Kerry Suzanne Davis.
William Mullins married Alice Mullins. William Mullins was born circa 1572 in Dorking, Surrey, England.1 He was the son of John Mullins and Joan Bridger. William Mullins died on 21 February 1620/21 in Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1
He, with his wife Alice, son Joseph, and daughter Priscilla came to Plymouth on the Mayflower. William Mullins was the 10th signer of The Compact. To read The Compact, click on the icon.
He left a married daughter Sarah and a son William behind in England who later came to America. Mullins was a shoe and boot dealer in Dorking and he brought with him over 250 shoes and 13 pairs of boots.
Bradford says of the "Molines" family, later written "Mullins": "Mr. Molines and his wife and sone and his servant dyed the first winter; only his daughter Priscilla survived and meried John Alden, who are both living and have eleven children, and their eldest daughter is married and hath five children."
It is supposed that the Molines were Walloons or French Huguenots for Baird's History of Huguenot Emigration to America says: "Wm. Molines and his daughter Priscilla, afterward wife of John Alden, with Philip De la Noyes and others remained in Leyden. That is when the French Huguenots went to Ouiana. I am inclined to think that either William Molines or his wife Alice were English for after this they went to England and joined the Pilgrims there. They embarked in the "Speedwell," but in the re-adjustment of the passengers after the ship "Speedwell" gave out, we find them in the "Mayflower."
Further information from her research on the Mullins was shared by cousin Gretchen Louise Bradfield in 2000: "Genealogists have disproved that the Mullins were Huguenots. There may have been Huguenots among the "Adventurers" and the variation on the spelling of the name Mullins as Molines are given as reasons for the original belief. Also, it is thought that Mrs. Mullins first name was Alice but her maiden name is still unknown, but one of the several possibilities makes her related to Henry Wood who is also an ancestor of ours thru Huldah Wood Marsh. It was a descendant of Henry Wood, Ephraim, who married Susannah Howland." I (KSD) see that Mayflower Families mentions "longstanding claims that her maiden name is Atwood, or Poretiers, are without basis," so that remains a mystery.
William Mullins' original Will, written down by John Carver the day of Mullins' death, was witnessed by the Mayflower's captain Christopher Jones, the Mayflower's surgeon Giles Heale, and Plymouth's governor John Carver. In the will he mentions his family as well as his children back in Dorking, and also a Goodman Woods and a Master Williamson who have not been identified.
