This traces my direct descent, and that of my siblings and my first cousins, and their children as well, from Thomas Ballard, Sr. of Middle Plantation (Williamsburg), the founder of The Ballard Family of Virginia. The line goes back through Mom and her mother Mabel to her O'Bryan parents, and her grandmother Margaret Ballard O'Bryan, directly on back to Thomas Ballard, Jr. who was involved with building The College of William and Mary and a founder of Yorktown, Virginia, and finally to his father Thomas, Sr., founder of The Ballard Family of Virginia -- both men very much involved in the early settling and governance of Virginia.
